Hey guys, I’m a high school engineering capstone student and I am building a SAR rover as my project. I was wondering if it was at all possible to put rosflight on the rover. I know it works for multirotors, but I’m not sure about rovers. Thanks!
Um, I don't know.
The estimator will still work, at least, it will estimate attitude of the rover, and if you put ROSflight into fixedwing mode you'll have full control of the outputs, without the attitude controller interfering. You'll have to implement the full-state estimator and controller in ROS, but you'll get the IMU and magnetometer readings at high rate
I guess it depends on what you want to do.
I was thinking the same thing, about putting it into fixed wing mode. I’ll play around with it. I think that the power to steering servos might be an issue, but the signal wires for ESCs and servos should be fine. Thanks!
The feature_194 branch exposes the rest of the servo outputs too. That branch is in the pipeline for release, and should probably be done in the next couple of weeks.
